bos_g_celtics-bulls_mb_600x400The Boston Celtics have agreed to a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies that will send shooting guard Courtney Lee to Memphis for point guard Jerryd Bayless, sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein.

According to reports, the Celtics have been in pursuit of Bayless for the past few seasons. Sources say a trade call to the NBA will be scheduled for Monday to make the deal official.

With the Grizzlies trading away Rudy Gay last year, they have enough cap space to absorb Lee's contract, which has two years and $11 million left on it. The Grizzlies hope Lee can help with the team's perimeter shooting, as they are in deep need of it.

Since then, they have relied on Mike Conley and Mike Miller for 3-point shooting since Quincy Pondexter went down with injury.  Lee has been shooting nearly 50 percent this season and about 44 percent from beyond the arc, so it will definitely help Memphis.

Meanwhile for Boston, they have been trying to get rid of the 28-year-old due to cap space. The Grizzlies tried getting rid of Bayless due to a dip in production this season. Bayless has one year and $3.1 million left on his contract.

Memphis also made another move recently when they released guard Seth Curry, brother of Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry.
