marcus smart february 2014

Marcus Smart has officially been suspended three games by the Big 12 conference after the Oklahoma State star point guard shoved Texas Tech fan Jeff Orr, who allegedly called Smart the N-word, during the Cowboys' loss to the Red Raiders on Saturday night, according to ESPN.

The incident happened with about six seconds left in the game as Smart stumbled out of bounds behind the basket. There, Orr allegedly told Smart to "go back to Africa, n****r," which led to shoving. Smart wasn't ejected, but he was benched for the rest of the six seconds as he watched his Cowboys plummet to another defeat.

The suspension was likely going to come anyway, even Smart was just trying to make a point for the better. No word yet on what happens to the fan.

Luckily for Smart, none of this will hurt him much in the future. One NBA general manager says his 2014 draft stock should be just fine.
