dominic raiola february 2014

Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola is 35 years old and will be entering his 14th NFL season. Raiola avoided retirement as he decided to sign a one-year deal with Detroit recently. According to the veteran, he believes he could play at least two more years in the league.

“Not a lot of people can say they played 15 years, and that’s a realistic goal for me,” Raiola said, via the Detroit News. “And I say that very humbly and without getting too far ahead of myself.”

Raiola was drafted by the Lions back in 2001 and hopes to win a playoff game with the team. After ending the 2013 NFL season in an extremely disappointing fashion, Raiola hopes things go differently in 2014 under new head coach Jim Caldwell.

“I don’t think anybody that’s on an NFL team is a loser,” Raiola said. “It’s got to change.”
