Mario Balotelli has been the target of racism throughout his soccer career, as Italian fans continue to heckle the AC Milan forward with racist chants. It happened again on Saturday when Balotelli faced Napoli, which led to him crying on the bench.

Balotelli started crying on the bench after being subbed in during the Serie A game. Many believed he was crying due to being substituted, but later reports said it was due to the racist chants the 23-year-old received.

"It has been reported that the Balotelli incident was all about racist chants," wrote @SerieAlive.

This is the video of Balotelli crying (H/T BSO):

This isn't the first time Balotelli has dealt with racism in his career. Some of it has gone so far that he was posed as King Kong in a local Italian newspaper. Sadly, it doesn't look like it will ever end for Balotelli as long as he continues playing.

He definitely doesn't deserve it. It's amazing how he continues to stay strong and let his game do the talking. It's one of the many reasons why I would say he's favorite soccer player right now.

UPDATE

It looks like racism was not the reason Balotelli was crying on the bench, according to Football Italia. It was recently reported that he was the father of ex-girlfriend Raffaella Fico's child, Pia, who was born on Dec. 5, 2012.

Balotelli's brother, Enock Baruwah, says that was the reason behind the tears.

“Let’s not start posting pictures of him crying, dammit. Let’s leave him alone for once and pretend it didn’t happen... It has been a tough week.”
