The Utah Jazz have traded guard John Lucas III and forwards Erik Murphy and Malcolm Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Carrick Felix, a 2015 second-round NBA Draft pick and cash on Tuesday,
according to USA Today.
The people were anonymous about the trade until both teams announced the acquisition.
The Cavs probably saw the deal as an attractive offer since all three players have non-guaranteed contracts for next season. This can help Cleveland cut some salary as well.
This deal could help Cleveland move forward in trying to make a trade for Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love, but we'll see once time moves on.
