Kemba Walker January 2015

Reports say the situation is now not that serious, but Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker likely needs knee surgery to remove a cyst near his meniscus that has pained him since high school.

Hornets general manager Rich Cho said the team will continue to evaluate Walker, who has now missed three of the last five games.

Walker will have a magnetic resonance imaging and it’s possible he could need surgery. However, he has played with this injury, resulting from a cyst in his joint, since high school in New York City.

Walker was expected to play against the New York Knicks on Saturday night, but was eventually removed from the lineup.
