It appears they are dating now, and they have been at a lot of places together. However, this relationship isn't like what most think it is.
According to Dish Nation, Kardashian is going the Russell Wilson route and is not having sex with The Beard after seeing how her relationship with rapper French Montana went.

“Khloe likes James and wants to get to know him without having sex,” a pal close to Khloe revealed.
“It may come as a surprise, but it’s a new path she’s taking when it comes to men. She feels like all French [Montana] cared about was having sex with her. It really got in her head.”
“Lamar’s string of affairs during their marriage and French’s obsession with having sex all the time really got to Khloe,” the insider added.
“She wants to feel respected, so she made a pact that she wouldn’t hook up with anyone she dates until they prove to her they aren’t just with her for sex.”
“We’ll see how long she sticks to her no-sex policy, but for now it’s helped her to keep a clearer conscience and not get so attached to these men.”
“The truth is that she wants to settle down and have kids sooner than later — she just wants to be sure she has a guy that really cares about her for the right reasons, not just sex.”
I don't know how true this is, but we'll see how things go further for the NBPA Players Choice MVP.
