The San Francisco 49ers have confirmed that Colin Kaepernick was confronted by teammates in a heated players only meeting, and now the two culprits have been revealed.

Earlier this week, Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com reported that said players-only meeting went left when the topic turned to the embattled quarterback. Maiocco confirms that tight end Vernon Davis called out Kaepernick, and left tackle Joe Staley came to the quarterback’s aid.

Per Maiocco, the “exchange became heated and may have even gotten physical.”

The three men reportedly “cleared the air” within days after the incident, and coach Jim Tomsula has downplayed any such internal exchange as being no different than an Italian dinner.

Davis on Wednesday told CSNBayArea.com he would be available to speak later.

“I have a great relationship with Vernon,” Kaepernick said. “We’ve constantly had talks since I started playing. It’s something we both want to do. We both want to win. That’s where some of the frustrations come from. We’re trying to fix the losing streak we’d been on.”

Davis has been the subject of trade speculation, while Kaepernick has just been terrible.
