Magic Johnson doesn’t mince words, so if the Los Angeles Lakers president says he will step down if the team don’t land top free agents over the next two summers, then that’s exactly what he’ll do.
“If I fail, I shouldn’t be in this position,” Johnson said.
On Tuesday, Johnson told reporters that he felt no pressure to restore the purple-and-gold to prominence through free agency, per ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk.

The Lakers are in the midst of the franchise’s longest playoff drought ever, and fans are clamoring for LeBron James, Paul George, and others in this upcoming free agency period.
