So what has been going on in the past week? That's what we'll be looking at here. Most of the stuff is off the court news. We'll also look at some stellar performances. We'll look at the latest rumors as well. This is the first of a weekly post so don't be surprised if there are improvements and different features each week. Today we'll start off a bit slow so we can get a full understanding of what to expects. Are you ready? Well then let's go!

Off the Court

Are the Clippers cursed?

Here's the link to the story: Here. I don't know too much about the Clippers' history but for what I do know, Clippers have had some bad luck. With Billups going down, there is going to be a big hole to fill. I actually don't think it'll kill the Clippers with Billups out. Plus, they have like 13 PG's or something. It's an exaggeration, I know. But, the team still has pieces to stay competitive.

Perk vs King James

So remember when Blake Griffin "dunked" on Kendrick Perkins? Well, LeBron James remembers. And remember when James jumped over John Lucas? James remembers that too. And James thinks that Blake's "dunk" was better than his dunk. Oh, in case you didn't realize, I actually was not very impressed with Blake's "dunk". Anyway, Perkins wasn't happy with the way James responded and called him out on it. This is something that Perkins said:

"You don't see Kobe (Bryant) tweeting," Perkins said, according to the report. "You don't see Michael Jordan tweeting. If you're an elite player, plays like that don't excite you."

I actually agree with that. I can also see how James would be excited. I mean, I wasn't excited because it wasn't a dunk and it's not like Blake destroyed Perkins. But, perhaps James was just showing his love of the game. He wasn't a player at the time of the tweet; he was a fan off the game. Yeah, that's it. Perhaps James was being humble by denouncing how great his dunk was compared to Blake's "dunk". And so, just as you and I show excitement about a sick play, James was showing his excitement too. And I can honor that reasoning.

Player(s) of the Week

I'm going with Jeremy Lin. Look, I haven't seen him in action but from what I hear, he's been really good. And his story goes farther that just on the court. How many players are in the league from Ivy League schools? Nice to see a nerd tear it up. Ha. But I also think that this won't last for long. Oh I mean, he won't suck or anything. He's going to be decent for the rest of his career. But, defenses will learn about him. Plus, the Knicks have Carmelo Anthony. You think he's going to let Lin get to 20 points that easily? Amare needs the ball too. So, Lin's numbers may go down, but, he should still be a valuable member of the team. Knicks may have gotten lucky here.

Rumors

So any trade rumors and/or signings? Not really but there was some issues with Dwight Howard and Kobe. There was a report saying that Kobe told Dwight that if he came to the Lakers, he would be the 3rd option after himself and Pau Gasol. It was reported that Dwight said that "Kobe ruined it" and told the Laker's that he would not sign an extension with Lakers if he were traded to them. Kobe later denied that he said that to Howard. So, it would seem that Nets are the most likely destination for Howard. I guess there are other places he could go to, but would Howard want to go there?

Alright so this was a basic run through of this little weekly run review of the NBA.
