Many rumors have been coming up lately that Nicklas Lidstrom could end his career once the Red Wings' season is over. His career could be over tonight if the Nashville Predators win.
However, coach Mike Babock says he would be shocked if such a thing happened.
“I’ve been hearing that same story [about Lidstrom retiring] for about five years now,” he told the Detroit Free Press. “I haven’t thought much about Nick. I’d be shocked if he retires, but I’ve been shocked before.”
Lidstrom is 42 years old, but has been playing well and is one of the best defenseman in league history. Don't look for him to retire, at least according to Babock.
