Mike Woodson is currently in negotiations to become the full-time head coach of the New York Knicks. One interesting twist in it, though, is that he had to change agents to finish out the negotiations.

Knicks owner, James Dolan, is still upset from doing a contract with Larry Brown back in 2005 for five years, $50 million with agent Joe Glass. The ugly relationship ended in one year with a $18.5 million-payout. Dolan doesn't want the same thing to happen with Mike Woodson.

Glass, 87, who is in declining health, had no comment on the situation, but his son Keith spoke for him.

"Hey, Mike Woodson deserves the job. I'm trying to take the high road and I won't be asking anyone at the Garden for directions," he said.

Sources say Woodson is close to signing with the recognized CAA. They also represent Knicks star, Carmelo Anthony.

There are rumors also going around that New York will offer former Lakers coach Phil Jackson a mega-contract of five years worth $50 million, but expect the Knicks to stay put and keep Woodson around. New York believes Phil Jackson would be noncommittal if he signed that long of a deal due to his age (66) and his health.

It will be interesting to see if they keep Woodson and if he will have the same success he had this season. Woodson led the Knicks to a 18-6 record to finish out the regular season before losing to the Miami Heat in 5 games just nights ago.

It will be very interesting to see all of the story lines with the Knicks.

Will Woodson be able to improve and lead the Knicks to a deep playoff run? Will Woodson be able to mesh Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire, and Jeremy Lin into a cohesive unit?

He is in for one hell of a ride if and when he becomes the Knicks full-time head coach.

We will probably know in the next week or so how contract negotiations are going for Woodson and Knicks brass. Woodson put in the hard work and earned that job if he gets it.
