The Memphis Grizzlies have put Rudy Gay on the trading block and many teams have been calling them for him. One new suitor has come up and that is the Charlotte Bobcats.

According to Fox Sports' Sam Amico, the Bobcats are willing to deal their second overall pick in this year's draft for Gay.

Here's the news from Amico:

There’s been talk that the Bobcats might be willing to move the No. 2 pick to Memphis in a package for small forward Rudy Gay, but according to sources, it’s just been talk. “It seems the rumors about Gay (being on the trading block) are true,” one source said. “And the Bobcats are one team that could take on his salary. But a trade would be complicated.”

As article says, a trade like this will be very tricky for Charlotte to pull off. Memphis would likely have to take on the contracts of Corey Maggette and Tyrus Thomas to make it work.

If I were the Grizzlies, I'd have to take that deal even if you have to take on the contracts of Maggette and Thomas. You put Gay on the market and landing the second pick is like icing on the cake.

Memphis would just plug in Michael Kidd-Gilchrist or Bradley Beal and not even skip a beat. It seems like a win-win for both sides.

The Bobcats get a veteran scorer like Gay and the Grizzlies end up with either Kidd-Gilchrist or Beal to put along side Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol, and Mike Conley.

Would you rather have Gay or prospects like Kidd-Gilchrist or Beal?

It will certainly get more interesting as the days pass by toward June 28.
