After Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson made his comments this past week that he could beat gold medalist sprinter Usain  Bolt in the 40-yard dash.

Now Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson is joining in on the hoopla. The Wolverines star told Fox Sports Detroit that he could have a good chance.

“I’ve watched him run, and I’m pretty sure I can beat him in a 40-yard dash. I’d get a better start, and I could take him.

“At 60 yards, I’d be in trouble, and at 100 meters, he’d be gone, but I could get him in a 40.”

The idea came from Michigan backup quarterback Devin Gardener, who believes Robinson can beat Bolt in the 40.

“Denard could do that in a heartbeat – he’s the fastest man in the world,” said Gardner. “I know what Usain Bolt did in the Olympics, and Denard probably couldn’t beat him at 100 meters, but when it comes to football speed at 40 yards, I’d take Denard. He’s that fast.”

Robinson has also done track and field for Michigan, so that helps. He's shown his speed enough on the football field, being able to rush for 200 yards and pass for 200. However, I'd still take Bolt, in my opinion.

Anyways, though, people really need to stop with this crap about saying they can beat Bolt in a race. What's next?
