Jeff Driskel will be the starting the quarterback for the Florida Gators as they begin SEC play.

Gators head coach Will Muschamp chose Driskel over fellow sophomore Jacoby Brissett, citing Driskel's mobility as the key to the decision.

"It's nothing Jacoby did not do. Jeff, with his legs, gives us some different variables in our offense that can help us as we move forward," Muschamp said.

"So it'll be Jeff's game to play. I told Jeff, 'I don't want you looking over your shoulder but you need to play well.' And know that Jacoby is certainly capable of playing very well for us. Got confidence in both guys. Can win with both guys. Both of them handled it professionally and the way you're supposed to handle it. They've handled this whole competition that way."

Driskel completed 10 of 16 passes for 114 yards in the home opener versus Bowling Green. The Florida Gators will take on Texas A&M on the road this upcoming Saturday.
