The rookie season last year for point guard Ricky Rubio ended tragically when he went down with injury.

Rubio tore his ACL after a solid rookie campaign with the Minnesota Timberwolves where he averaged 10.6 points and eight assists per game.

The Timberwolves were destined for a playoff-appearance, looking to close in on the second-seed as long as their main two players in Rubio and Kevin Love were intact. However, as Rubio went down, so did Minnesota, and their playoff hopes were all gone.

Now already healing, Rubio says he plans to return in December, as he tells Sportando.

"I am eager to start running. I will likely be back in December. If we don't have injuries, we are going to fight for a spot in the playoffs."

In his absence, expect Luke Ridnour to fill in at the starting point guard spot for the time-being.
