LeVeon-Bell-Ben-Roethlisberger-Steelers-2013
Wow, Ben Roethlisberger has some nerve. I can remember Pittsburgh Steelers center Alan Faneca once publicly questioning if a rookie quarterback named Ben Roethlisberger was the guy to lead the Steelers. Two Super Bowl appearances later, I think Roethlisberger has proven that he can play.

So it was a bit shocking that Big Ben would publicly blast a rookie and question his effort and his skills. Steelers rookie running back Le’Veon Bell has yet to take the field this season because of numerous injuries. Bell was drafted to improve the Steelers running game. However, that same running game that has been lacking during the Steelers rough start.

During an appearance on 93.7 The Fan, Roethlisberger said that Bell’s track record makes it hard to count on him because he doesn’t know whether or not Bell’s doing everything in his power to stay on the field.

“Honestly, I have no idea with him. You can’t get a read on him. One day, he’s practicing, one day, he’s not; one day, he’s going hard, the next day, he’s not. I wish I could. If he was a guy like Heath Miller that you knew was busting his butt every day to get back there … Le’Veon is a rookie, I don’t know him quite well enough yet. But if he can come back and help us, we’ll take him.”

What do you think of Roethlisberger's comments regarding Bell?
