Peyton-Manning-Ravens-Broncos-2013

Peyton Manning did what no quarterback has done in over 40 years on Thursday night. Manning tossed seven touchdown passes in the Denver Broncos' 2013 NFL opening night win over the defending-champion Baltimore Ravens, 49-27.

The 37-year-old tied an NFL record for the most touchdown passes thrown in a game, as he continues to pad his Hall of Fame resume as he chases for his second career Super Bowl ring this year.

While Manning continues to make his case as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, maybe even the greatest of all-time, he continues to get recognized by other world athletes.

Following the win on Thursday night, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant made Manning a member of his exclusive group, the Vino Group. In fact, the group is so exclusive, there were only three members before Manning joined.

Here was Bryant's official "announcement":
Larry Brown Sports made an interesting discovery of the group's members in Manning, Bryant, Floyd Mayweather and Justin Timberlake.

LBS points out that all of these guys are considered "old" and are well approaching 40 years of age, yet they still make the case to be the best at what they do. Bryant has five rings and continues to score at will, Manning has all of the accomplishments under the sun, Mayweather is still undefeated and Timberlake is just plain magnificent.

Looks like Peyton Manning got added into some pretty good company with the Vino Club.
