Julio-Jones-Falcons-Jets-2013
Wow, this is a shocking blow to the Atlanta Falcons playoff hopes . . . and my Dollarnaire fantasy football chances. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that Falcons star wide receiver Julio Jones will miss the remainder of the regular season due to a foot injury.

Jones had eight catches for 99 yards against the New York Jets, and was off to a blistering start to the season with 41 catches for 580 yards and two touchdowns. In 2012, Jones hauled in 79 receptions for 1,198 yards and 10 touchdowns.

This is obviously a huge blow for the Falcons offense, as Matt Ryan tries to power through the next few weeks without Roddy White, and then Jones the whole year. The only receiving targets he has left right now are Tony Gonzalez and Harry Douglas. To make matters worse, Steven Jackson is out, so the run game has been non-existent.

Atlanta is 1-4 right now, and their playoff chances are looking slim-to-none as of this point. Gotta feel bad for Gonzalez, who was hoping for a championship run in his final NFL season. Instead, he has to deal with a tough, losing season to close out his illustrious career.
