Kobe-Bryant-October-2013
The older Kobe Bryant gets, the more human and vulnerable he allows himself to be. Bryant is attempting to comeback from an injury that has taken many a career. The Achilles tendon is wired different tha an ankle or ACL. Bryant blistered through the early stages of his rehab, and as the months have gotten longer, things have seemed to slow down a bit in his prognosis.

In a video courtesy of Inside The Lakers, Bryant gave some insight to that vulnerability when he admitted that he sometimes suffers from self-doubt when it comes to his return from such a serious injury.

"As I sit here with you now, I’m telling you now I’ll come back 100 percent,” Bryant said in a recent appearance in China. “But I don’t know if I’m sure. I have moments and days where I doubt myself . . . The people who say they will never come back from this injury, to me, that says if they had this injury, they would quit.

“That’s what it means to me. If they sit here and look at me and say I can’t do it, that means if it happened to you, you wouldn’t do it. I have to show them just as much as I show people who support me that this can be done and I can come back from this. By me coming back, it shows the people who doubt me to reconsider what’s possible.”

I have no doubt that Kobe will be able to return to his usual form of greatness. It’s just neat to know he too has moments of insecurities.
