Detroit’s biggest weakness last season was its lack of a legit closer, and Nathan is a major upgrade over anyone on the Tigers roster right now. Even though he’s 39 years old, Nathan has performed at an elite level the past two years, racking up 80 saves over that span with the Texas Rangers.

With the recent departure of offensive juggernaut Prince Fielder, the Tigers could be in a lot more close games this season, increasing the need for an elite closer.

If Nathan can produce like he has the last two seasons, this will be a great move for the Tigers.
