Dahntay Jones July 2014

Dahntay Jones has been out of the NBA for a year now, but he is planning to make a comeback this season at 33 years old.

According to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, Jones is planning this comeback with the Knicks. He is expected to workout for the team sometime this week.

"Jones, 33, is also scheduled to audition for the Sixers, but the New Jersey product would prefer to land a contract with the Knicks that would reunite him with Carmelo Anthony, his former teammate in Denver," Isola writes.

Jones could earn a training camp invite, but it will be tough for him to make the roster with 12 players guaranteed to be under contract for next season. He is also competing with the likes of Shannon Brown and Wayne Ellington for a roster spot as well.

Jones, a 10-year veteran, last played with the Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks in the 2012-13 NBA season. He's known to be a strong defensive presence, which could help New York if they decide to add him to the roster when the regular season begins.
