Greg Hardy was arrested back in May for allegedly beating his girlfriend, but he's now back for NFL training camp with the Carolina Panthers. However, the star defensive end hates being a distraction on the team due to his arrest.

"I hate that I have distracted my team," he said. "Other than that I can't answer that question."

It's been a rough past few months for Hardy, but he preferred not to discuss about it when asked by the media.

"I don't answer questions like that, man," he said.

Here's more from ESPN:

Asked if being on the field makes it easier, Hardy said, "Can't answer that question, man."

Asked if he has apologized to the team for being a distraction, he said, "I can't answer that question. It's a team thing."

Hardy will become a free agent after this season. He prefers to stay with Carolina and re-sign with them in the offseason.

"Play a good season, and hopefully when you talk to Mr. Gettleman you can convince him to keep me," Hardy said of general manager Dave Gettleman. "I love this place. It's a great atmosphere. I love the ownership. I love my teammates. I've had a great five years here, so it's where I'm at."

Hardy was a Pro Bowler last year when he had 15 sacks. He had 11 sacks in 2012. If he can keep that performance up for the 2014 season, all the past will be behind him.

We'll see if Hardy can continue his high level of play come September for the regular-season opener.
