Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson has been everywhere since winning a Super Bowl this past season.
Whether it's going on David Letterman, sitting with Jay Z and Beyonce courtside at a Brooklyn Nets game or just being in more TV commercials, the man has been one of the most talked about athletes lately.
Now the NFL regular season begins this week, and Wilson has to get back to work. It all starts with Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers as the Seahawks begin their quest to repeat, something that almost never happens in the NFL.
Wilson and the Seahawks now have a target on their back to defend their championship belt. Facing a ton of pressure this season while also at a very young age, Wilson was given some advice from some of the best such as New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees.
Oh, and he got some advice from the GOAT himself ... Michael Jordan.
According to USA Today, Wilson was invited to one of Jordan's golf tournaments, where the Chicago Bulls great gave the young star QB some offseason advice.
Here's what Wilson learned:
"The thing that he said is being able to lead, being able to bring the others with you and, also, being the one that's always the first one there and the last one to leave, to take the extra shots, to help the young guys and do all the things that you can," he said. "I think you just have to do that much more. Human nature wants to fight against that. Human nature wants you to naturally relax and not improve.
"One of the things I'm trying to do — and our team collectively — is to fight that and to continue to improve and continue to stay focused on one mission, and that's going 1-0 every week."
We'll see if Wilson can carry this on this season.
