Dallas Mavericks star point guard Rajon Rondo will miss Monday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after he suffered a facial injury during Saturday night's game.
Rondo took a knee to the face and did not return to the game.
"It was a really bad collision," Mavericks center Tyson Chandler said of the injury. "I don't know what the prognosis is, but he is pretty beat up."
The injury occurred when Rondo tripped over the leg of Orlando Magic guard Elfrid Payton, leading to teammate Richard Jefferson kneeing him in the face. Jefferson did not see Rondo on the floor before the collision happened. Blood poured out of Rondo's nose from the hit.
Hopefully some rest will do Rondo good, and he'll be back to his regular self once he returns to action.
