Tom Brady Super Bowl 2015

As they shouldn't.

I'm probably one of the biggest Patriot and Brady haters being an Indianapolis Colts fan, but even I can admit that Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, despite DeflateGate and all that.

Hall of Fame voters agree, and say it shouldn't affect his status for getting into Canton. The only knack would probably be that he can't be a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer, but we'll see once that day comes.

From Pro Football Talk:

Richard Deitsch of SI.com reached out to eight Hall of Fame voters and found that they’re not going to let Deflategate outweigh the fact that Brady is a three-time Super Bowl MVP, two-time regular-season MVP, two-time first-team All-Pro and 10-time Pro Bowler.

About the closest any voter came to suggesting that Deflategate will cost Brady any Hall of Fame votes was Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News, and even he opened his comments with, “Brady is still going into the Hall of Fame.” Gosselin just thinks Deflategate could cause Brady to have to wait a year rather than being a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

Of course, Brady's legacy will still take a hit. Admit or not, people will be talking about the likes of SpyGate and DeflateGate for years to come whenever his name is brought up, but I guess he put that on himself.

At the end of the day, Brady can still call himself a Super Bowl champion and future Hall-of-Famer though.
