Technology has came a long way over just past decade, even past 3-5 years even, it's unbelievable.

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr would definitely agree with that statement as he wasn't able to be there to see his get born. However, thanks to the wonders of FaceTime on the iPhone and other Apple devices, it was possible for Carr to watch his son's birth.

Carr found out about his wife being in labor after the Cowboys defeated the Miami Dolphins in the NFL's preseason opener. Carr would be unable to make it to the hospital and see his son's birth. He can now thank the late Steve Jobs for his ability to watch it happen.

“I saw everything I needed to see,” Carr told Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I saw it all. Technology is wonderful these days. Sometimes you can’t control what’s going to happen. You’ve just got to go with the flow. I made the most of it.”

Carr was finally able to see his son in real life following the preseason game, and he had absolutely no sleep.

“No sleep at all, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. It was a good feeling to be there and actually see your first son. I’m still trying to gather my thoughts and bring it all in. The last two days have been good. It’s a blessed feeling.”

Good stuff for Carr, and congrats on having young Mr. Carr with him as he begins a new family. Now it looks like he's going have to go watch Jobs to thank the creator of FaceTime for Carr's ability to witness his son getting born, and the moment where he turns into a father.
