Paul-George-Pacers-September-2013Paul George is getting paid, literally.

The Indiana Pacers star small forward will reportedly sign a new contract extension before the 2013-14 NBA season begins, and boy is he getting his money's worth. Sources say PG is in the works of signing a five-year deal worth $90 million.

George led the Pacers to new heights last season, helping Indiana come one game short of being in the NBA Finals. Now George is looking to back there, and with more motivation -- a lot more now.

It was a big win for the Pacers getting this deal done now, as they can avoid all the drama of Geoege being a free agent next offseason. There was already talk of him heading to Los Angeles to play with the Lakers. Now, all that talk can be shut down.

The big question moving forward is how Indy will handle their cap situation. George and Roy Hibbert both have max deals. David West and George Hill both have lucrative deals. Will Indiana have enough to keep Lance Stephenson, even with Danny Granger's salary off the books by next year's free agency. By the looks of it, I wouldn't be surprised seeing Hill being dealt within the next two years due to how big of a payroll Indiana's starting lineup contains.

We'll see what happens. This will only make or break the Pacers. We can be championship winners or fall apart within the next half-decade.

But hey, it was a deal that had to be done. Congrats, Paul George.

What do you think of the deal?
