Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is frustrated, and the frustration continues to grow as his team borders on mediocrity with a star at the quarterback position. Jones, who knows a thing or two about football, was on KRLD 105.3 FM “The Fan" on Tuesday morning when the conversation of Romo being the fourth-rated passer in the NFL came up.

Jones, who knows his window is closing, said that you can be a heck of a quarterback, and still not win games.

“You can be a hell of a passer, now, and still not win these games. You can be a heck of a quarterback and not win them. … By all accounts, (Rivers) is a top quarterback out there in San Diego, and yet, they had won one out of three. You’ve got to have a lot of things going for you. It’s obviously a lot of people involved that lost the game out there the other day for the Cowboys, and we’ve got to get them going in the right direction.”

Romo has a 105.0 passer rating for the season, and ranks behind only Peyton Manning’s 138.0, Rivers’ 118.8 and Aaron Rodgers’ 105.1 in passing. However, only Manning is the one with the team that has an undefeated record.

"I thought we’d catch our balls the other day,” Jones said. “We had some drops. Not blaming the game on drops, but we catch the balls that we had a chance to catch the other day, we get a little more out of our run here or there that we had a chance to do the other day. … We’ve just got to make the plays. Now, Jason said it pretty well – when you get in a game like that, and you’re not throwing 35 times, you’ve got to make the catches if they’re in there to catch.”

Jones’ statement on the radio makes my point in regards to Romo, and the bad rap he gets as a quarterback because of his team's inability to win at times.
