It appears everyone loves Floyd Mayweather, even when it’s not clear why sometimes. The former pound-for-pound king received another prestigious honor, this time for no apparent reason, in a city that he has no ties to.

According to TMZ Sports, Mayweather was honored on January 17 in Oklahoma City, where the date was declared Floyd Mayweather Day.
There were festivities aplenty … including a dinner, followed by a meet-and-greet hosted by industry mover and shaker Karen Civil.

This was no joke people, Floyd received official documents from the state — making the whole thing as official as a referee with a whistle.
Short of attending a few Thunder games and betting on the Oklahoma Sooners, there’s no true connection between Floyd and OKC. Where’s Kevin Durant’s day?
