When you think of a person who has been involved with the Dallas Mavericks NBA franchise, most would picture power forward Dirk Nowitzki or owner Mark Cuban in their heads.

That might be just enough for the reason why Cuban will never ever trade Nowitzki away from Dallas, as he gave his full reason recently.

Per the Dallas Morning News: "Dirk defines our culture. When your best player, no matter how old, is the first one in the gym and the last to leave, and works the hardest and encourages guys the way Dirk does … that has a value that goes far beyond what you see on the court."

Nowitzki was the guy who finally put the Mavericks on the map of the NBA's top championship contenders for the past decade, and he finally completed his goal of winning the NBA Finals back in 2011 by knocking off the Miami Heat.

Dallas has made some good moves this offseason, signing guys like Monta Ellis, Samuel Dalembert, Devin Harris and Jose Calderon. This definitely is a solid supporting cast around a veteran like Nowitzki. If anything, the Mavericks should be at least 10th or 9th seed, and will definitely be contending for the playoffs next year.

Even if they can't make it, there's one thing for sure: Dirk Nowitzki is a Dallas Maverick for life.
